Israel Orders Evacuation of Lebanese Coastal City Tyros Amid Hezbollah Threat and Air Strikes

Israel called for the evacuation of residents in the Lebanese coastal city of Tyre (Tyros) on Tuesday. The warning applies to the entire city and its surrounding suburbs, including a Christian quarter that had not previously been subject to such orders.

Residents in the affected area were instructed to move to safety north of the Zahrani River. The reason provided for the directive was the reported activity of Hezbollah fighters within the Christian district. According to the military, actions are being taken against their “terror activities” in this area. The Israeli military stated that any building used by Hezbollah for military purposes could become a target of attacks.

Meanwhile, Lebanese media reported that Israeli airstrikes had already taken place in Tyre. Reports indicated that fighter jets had carried out a heavy attack on the coastal city.

These strikes occurred one day after Israel and Iran had mutually ceased their reciprocal attacks. However, Tehran had previously issued a warning that it would react to renewed Israeli attacks in Lebanon.
