Jochen Kopelke, Chairman of the Police Union (GdP), expects violent clashes during the protests announced by “GenZ regelt” for Saturday. Kopelke stated to the newspapers of the “Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland” (Wednesday editions) that he anticipates these gatherings will be exploited for riots.
In contrast, Kopelke does not anticipate this level of violence at the protests scheduled for November by the Federal Student Conference. He noted that the identity of those behind GenZ remains unclear, adding that the names listed in the online imprint are not particularly helpful in tracing them.
The imprint on the “GenZ regelt” homepage lists Akram Selo, connected to an address in Switzerland. According to reports, the organizing circle consists of between 20 and 30 individuals. The Federal Student Conference had already distanced itself from the protests on October 31st over the weekend, but subsequently, further supporters have joined them.
“GenZ regelt” is calling for protests in 23 cities on October 31st. The Generation Z demographic broadly includes young people born between 1995 and 2010.
