Slight Earthquake Strikes Southern Greece Near Methoni; No Injuries Reported

A mild earthquake occurred in the south of Greece on Sunday. Initially, geologists reported magnitudes ranging from 5.2 to 5.4, though these figures are often later revised. The tremor struck at 9:17 PM local time (8:17 PM German time). The epicenter was located less than 10 kilometers southwest of the Peloponnese peninsula, near the port city of Methoni.

There were no initial reports of damage or casualties. Although quakes of this intensity can cause serious damage to vulnerable structures, robust buildings typically sustain only minor or no damage at all.
