Norway Elections: Labour Party Secures Victory

Norway’s parliamentary elections have concluded with the Labour Party, led by Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, emerging as the leading force. Preliminary results from the electoral authorities indicate the Labour Party secured 28.2 percent of the vote.

The center-left bloc, spearheaded by Støre’s Labour Party, is projected to hold 87 of the 169 seats in parliament. The center-right alliance secured 82 seats. Notably, the Progress Party, a right-leaning party, achieved its strongest-ever electoral performance, garnering 23.9 percent of the vote.

It is anticipated that Støre will continue to govern as the leader of a minority government, requiring the support of other political parties to maintain parliamentary backing.
