Spanish prosecutors have filed charges against the suspected murderer of a confidential informant for the Frankfurt police. According to an indictment cited by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ), Tolga S. is accused, alongside three accomplices, of fatally shooting the victim in southern Spain in June 2022.
The charges against the 34-year-old German also include membership in a criminal organization and illegal possession of weapons. The victim, 33-year-old Serbian citizen Aleksandar K., was found dead in a holiday resort in Marbella. Subsequent investigations and court proceedings revealed that he was involved in international drug trafficking and had been working as an informant for the Frankfurt police headquarters for several years.
The murder case garnered significant attention in Germany. Tolga S. was arrested in Turkey in spring 2024 and extradited to Spain, where he is currently detained. A suspected accomplice, Muhamed Said Ö., is reportedly incarcerated in Germany, recently sentenced by the Cologne Regional Court to nearly ten years in prison for drug trafficking.
Spanish authorities have requested his extradition. Two additional suspects mentioned in the Spanish indictment are currently at large. According to the FAZ’s report, the Spanish prosecutor alleges that Tolga S. and his accomplices were engaged in “criminal activities” that resulted in conflicts with Aleksandar K.
The indictment, dated May 31st of this year and not previously publicly released, states that the group agreed to carry out an attack on the victim. They reportedly located him in front of his holiday apartment in Marbella on the afternoon of June 29, 2022 and entered the residence together. Inside, the defendants allegedly assaulted Aleksandar K. and tied him to a chair. The indictment claims they then shot him three times – once in the chest, once in the neck and once in the head. The victim, the prosecution asserts, had no opportunity to defend himself.
The newspaper was unable to locate Tolga S.’s lawyer in Spain. Muhamed Said Ö.’s German lawyer declined to comment on the charges. The Marbella prosecutor’s office is seeking a life sentence for Tolga S. and compensation for the victim’s family – €45,000 for his parents and €100,000 for his wife.
