According to the Taliban, a Pakistani attack on Afghanistan’s capital Kabul has killed about 400 people and wounded roughly 250 others, the Taliban government said on Tuesday.
The strike reportedly hit a drug rehabilitation centre. Pakistan denies that it targeted the facility, claiming instead that it struck “military facilities” and “infrastructure that supports terrorists”.
Since February 21, Pakistan has carried out regular attacks on targets in Afghanistan. The country cites terrorist incidents in Islamabad, Bajaur and Bannu-which it blames on the Afghan Taliban-as the backdrop for its actions. On February 27, Pakistan declared an “open war” against Afghanistan.
