In the final stages, Leipzig defended their slim lead and managed to hold on for the victory. This result keeps RB Leipzig in contention for the Champions League spots, while Mönchengladbach suffers their first defeat since going winless over the previous three matches. In the league standings, Leipzig remains in third place, while Gladbach drops to thirteenth.
