Initial reports indicate that the 33-year-old was driving a VW Taigo, traveling down Grimmaische Straße from Augustusplatz toward the local market and beyond.

Police personnel were able to locate and detain the suspect shortly after the incident, finding him in the vehicle near the Thomaskirchhof. The man has been taken into police custody.
