Antonelli Snaps Up Pole Position in Thrilling Monaco Grand Prix Qualifying

Andrea Kimi Antonelli successfully claimed pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix during an exciting qualifying session, setting the pace with a lap time of 1:12.051 minutes. The Mercedes driver beat out the competition, while Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing settled for second place, and Lewis Hamilton of Ferrari secured third on the grid.

The high expectations surrounding the favorite drivers from Ferrari were visible in practice, but Charles Leclerc, the local star, struggled to match the top speeds, ultimately finishing fourth. His session was slightly complicated when he made a side impact in the swimming pool chicane, requiring him to park his car in the runoff area under a brief yellow flag.

The qualifying session became a tense battle for optimal times as the event progressed. Max Verstappen initially set the benchmark with a fast lap, but Antonelli delivered a late counterattack to secure pole. Lewis Hamilton also managed an improvement, moving ahead of his teammate Leclerc.

Other strong performances were noted from the McLaren drivers; Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris finished in seventh and eighth place, respectively. Surprise performance was demonstrated by Isack Hadjar, who claimed fifth place for Red Bull Racing. George Russell, Antonelli’s teammate, rounded out the top ten in sixth position.
