Borussia Mönchengladbach has announced the signing of striker Isac Lidberg from SV Darmstadt 98 for the upcoming season. The club confirmed that he has signed a contract running until June 30, 2030.
Lidberg, who scored 31 goals across 58 second division matches for Darmstadt, will wear the number 3 at the Fohlen while continuing his pursuit of goals. Athletic director Rouven Schröder expressed optimism regarding the new acquisition, commenting, “Isac is a goal threat, physically strong, and knows how to assert himself in duels. Combined with his dynamism and mentality, he presents as an aggressive center-forward.”
The 27-year-old Swedish international was enthusiastic about the opportunity to play for Borussia. He stated, “Borussia is a major club with an impressive history.” He noted that convincing him was not difficult, adding, “It was quickly clear to me that I wanted to take this step.”
