Greens and Left Overtake SPD in Latest Poll, AfD Remains Dominant Force

According to the latest political barometer released by ZDF, the Green Party and The Left party have surpassed the SPD in the current public opinion poll.

If a federal election were held next Sunday, the SPD is projected by the polling organization Forschungsgruppe Wahlen to drop to 12 percent (a decline of 1 percentage point). Conversely, The Greens could gain two points, reaching 14 percent, while The Left party would also increase by two percentage points, placing them at 13 percent.

The Alternative for Germany (AfD) remains the strongest political force, holding at 27 percent (a decrease of 1 percentage point). Following them, the CDU and CSU secure second place with 23 percent (a decline of 1 percentage point). The Free Democratic Party (FDP) is projected to remain unchanged at 4 percent, which means it would fail to cross the threshold needed to win seats in the Bundestag. The remaining parties collectively register at 7 percent (a decline of 1 percentage point).

The data for this survey was collected between July 14 and July 16. A total of 1,284 randomly selected eligible voters were questioned via telephone and online, including both landline and mobile numbers.
