The newspaper reports that the most recent such expulsion occurred in January 2026. Furthermore, the Federal Ministry of the Interior confirmed that between February 1, 2022, and June 31, 2026, a total of 313 Russian nationals were deported from Germany. The Foreign Office added that the diplomatic staff at the Russian Embassy in Berlin has been significantly reduced because of Russia’s attack on Ukraine.
