Bielefeld and St. Pauli Draw 2-2 in 2. Bundesliga Encounter

In a match on the fourth game day of the 2. Bundesliga, Arminia Bielefeld and FC St. Pauli drew 2-2. Bielefeld took the lead early in the 13th minute; goalkeeper Jonas Kersken played a long pass on the wet pitch to Jannik Rochelt. Rochelt found himself alone in front of St. Pauli’s goalkeeper, Ben Voll, after a miscommunication from defender David Nemeth, and successfully put the ball in the net. St. Pauli responded shortly after, with Taichi Hara scoring the equalizer in the 20th minute. Arminia forward Joel Grodowski lost the ball on the left flank to Nemeth, who promptly crossed the ball to Hara, allowing him to blast the shot low into the bottom left corner.

Bielefeld reclaimed the lead in the 51st minute through Grodowski. Rochelt delivered a free-kick cross from the right side into the penalty area. Hara deflected the ball directly to Grodowski, who received it and shot quickly into the net. Although the ball was slightly deflected by Rasmussen, it landed uncatchably under the crossbar. The contest remained level in the 65th minute when Abdoulie Ceesay scored a second equalizer for the visiting Hamburg side. Mathias Rasmussen, a St. Pauli midfielder, initiated the attack on the right, setting Arkadiusz Pyrka into motion. Pyrka delivered a sharp cross into the goal, from which Ceesay slotted the ball into the net with his heel from close range. Following the draw, Bielefeld temporarily moved up to 8th place, while FC St. Pauli remained in 12th.

Meanwhile, in a different fixture, Hannover 96 also ended their second Friday match in a 2-2 draw against Karlsruher SC. Lars Gindorf scored the opener for the home side in the 26th minute from a corner kick. KSC forward Shio Fukuda equalized just two minutes later in the 28th minute. Hannover answered by securing a second lead through Marcel Hartel’s flat-footed shot. However, Rafael Pinto Pedrosa ensured the draw for KSC in the 85th minute.
