Leverkusen Edges Past Leipzig in Bundesliga Battle to Climb the Table

Bayer 04 Leverkusen secured a 2-0 victory over RB Leipzig during the fourth matchday of the Bundesliga.

The home team opened the scoring in the 44th minute. Leverkusen defender Miguel Gutierrez delivered a cross from the left half-space toward the center, where Patrik Schick made an run onto the ball and forced it into the left corner with a precise volley close to the penalty spot.

In the 57th minute, Miguel Gutierrez doubled Leverkusen’s lead. Ibrahim Maza, a Leverkusen midfielder, was unstoppable on the right side and crossed the ball low into the center. RB Leipzig defender Willi Orban initially touched the ball, but fellow player Ridle Baku was caught off guard, allowing the ball to roll directly to Leverkusen’s Miguel. From just outside the box, around 16 meters out, Miguel unleashed a shot that was slightly deflected before finding the net in the left corner.

Thanks to this win, Leverkusen temporarily climbs to fifth place in the table, while Leipzig drops to eighth place.
