Norris Dominates Wet Brazilian Qualifying to Snatch Pole Position

Lando Norris secured pole position during the wet qualifying session for the Brazilian Grand Prix on Saturday. Completing the top three were George Russell and Kimi Antonelli. Nico Hülkenberg impressed with a sixth-place finish, and thanks to several grid penalties imposed on other drivers, he will even start from a position outside the second row.

The timing practice in Sao Paulo was heavily affected by pouring rain and a lengthy interruption. Qualifying resumed after around an hour and a half pause. The volatile conditions led to numerous position changes and provided many mid-field drivers with opportunities to achieve strong results.

In the crucial third segment, Norris ultimately took the lead, posting a time of 1:27.470. Russell finished second but must start five places down due to a penalty. Antonelli, Leclerc, and other competitors are also affected by set-back regulations.

Besides Hülkenberg, Fernando Alonso, Alex Albon, Isack Hadjar, and Oliver Bearman managed to qualify in the top ten. Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton were unable to participate in Q3 because of previous grid penalties.
