Negotiations between Russia and Ukraine concluded in Istanbul following a third round of talks. According to the Russian news agency Tass, a key agreement was reached regarding the exchange of both military and civilian prisoners.
The discussions, held at the Çırağan Palace, commenced with a delay exceeding an hour and lasted approximately 40 minutes. Prior to the main proceedings, the heads of the delegations, Vladimir Medinsky and Rustem Umerov, engaged in a direct, personal meeting. A statement indicated that no further negotiation rounds are scheduled until the understandings reached are implemented.
Previously, the Ukrainian delegation had met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara to discuss potential defense collaborations. The Russian delegation in Istanbul maintained its previous structure of four primary members and four experts, while the Ukrainian delegation expanded to include 14 members. According to Tass, the talks were conducted in Russian.
