A serious traffic accident resulting in a fatality occurred on Friday evening on the B 257 near Quiddelbach. According to police reports from Adenau released on Saturday, the collision, involving a BMW and a Ford Fiesta, occurred at approximately 8:16 PM.
The driver of the BMW, a 37-year-old British national, reportedly veered into oncoming traffic while navigating a left-hand curve, resulting in a head-on collision with the Ford Fiesta travelling in the opposite direction. All six occupants of the two vehicles sustained serious injuries. Tragically, a French passenger in the Ford Fiesta later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The B 257 was closed for investigation between Adenau and Potsdamer Platz. Both vehicles involved in the accident were declared a total loss. Police investigations are ongoing to determine the precise circumstances leading to the collision.
