Days ahead of the state election in Saxony-Anhalt, the AfD and the BSW are showing slight increases in the ZDF “Political Barometer.” According to the poll, the AfD would secure 41 percent of the vote (+1 point), and the BSW would reach 4 percent (+1 point). Despite this gain, the BSW would still not have enough to enter the state parliament.
In other shifts, The Left loses 1.5 points, dropping to 13 percent, while the SPD falls to 8.5 percent (-0.5). The CDU maintained its lead at 23 percent, while the Greens, FDP, and the category for other parties all remained stable at 6%, 3%, and 3 percent, respectively, compared to the previous week.
Given these figures, the AfD would require a coalition partner to attain a parliamentary majority. A government composed of all the parties projected to be represented in parliament, excluding the AfD-meaning a coalition between the CDU, The Left, SPD, and the Greens-would hold a majority.
