The Green Party has increased its approval in voter opinion. According to the Insa “Sunday Trend” commissioned by “Bild am Sonntag”, the party gained one percentage point, rising to 14 percent. This places them two points ahead of the SPD, which dropped to 12 percent (a decrease of one point). Consequently, the Greens are now the third strongest party.
The AfD remains the most powerful force with 28 percent, although this marks a one-point decline. The Union continues to stagnate at 21 percent. Both The Left (11 percent) and the BSW saw a slight increase of one percentage point. The FDP remains unchanged at 4 percent, while an additional 6 percent of respondents indicated they would vote for one of the other parties not specifically listed.
In related findings, dissatisfaction with the work of Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) has slightly increased. Seventy-five percent (a rise of one point) of respondents reported being dissatisfied with him, compared to 18 percent who were satisfied, based on the latest survey dated July 10th. Regarding the black-red coalition, 19 percent of all respondents are satisfied with its performance (a rise of two points), while 74 percent are not (a decline of one point).
The polling was conducted by the independent research institute Insa, on behalf of “Bild am Sonntag”. Between July 20 and July 24, 2026, a total of 1,204 individuals (TOMs) were surveyed regarding the question: “If the Bundestag elections were scheduled for next Sunday, how would you vote?” Additionally, 1,003 individuals were polled on July 23 and 24 regarding their satisfaction with the Chancellor and the government.
