China’s President Xi Jinping is set to visit North Korea, according to the official North Korean news agency KCNA on Friday. The visit was said to have been invited by Kim Jong Un, the “Supreme Leader” of the isolated nation. The trip is scheduled to take place on June 8th and 9th, although further details about the visit have not yet been released. Notably, diplomatic visits from foreign guests are extremely rare in North Korea; however, Xi Jinping previously visited the country in 2019.
