Merz Visits Berlin Tiergarten Crime Scene After CSD Attack, Pledges Swift Action

Following the deadly attack during Berlin’s Christopher Street Day (CSD), Federal politician Friedrich Merz of the CDU visited the crime scene on Sunday afternoon. After attending a prayer service at Marienkirche, he proceeded to Tiergarten, the area where 21-year-old Abdul B drove a car into a crowd the previous day.

Before his visit, Merz spoke to the press, assuring the public, “We will do everything to catch the perpetrator as quickly as possible.” He added, “We will consider the consequences and decide with prudence, but also with determination.”

The attack reportedly took place around 10 p.m. in Tiergarten, targeting CSD participants who were celebrating. According to the latest reports, the assault resulted in 29 injuries, with one woman killed.
