US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday a ten-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon. Trump posted on his personal platform that the ceasefire was the result of talks he held with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The halt in fighting is scheduled to begin at 11 PM Central European Time. He stated that both countries first met in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, after 34 years, accompanied by his “great Secretary of State Marco Rubio”. Furthermore, Trump mentioned directing Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Rubio, along with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dan Raizin Caine, to collaborate with Israel and Lebanon in an effort to achieve lasting peace.
