RB Leipzig has secured the signing of Brazilian forward Romulo, the club announced Friday. The 23-year-old joins from Turkish Süper Lig side Göztepe, with his contract extending through June 2030.
The club highlighted Romulo’s demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to diverse leagues and tactical systems during his time in Brazil and Turkey. Sporting Director Marcel Schäfer expressed confidence that Romulo will “bring fresh impetus to our game and make our attacking profile even more versatile.
Romulo stated, “The move to RB Leipzig is a big step in my career. The Bundesliga is one of the strongest and most exciting leagues in the world and I want to prove myself at the highest level here”. He added his commitment to contributing to team success, aiming to score goals, provide assists and help the team achieve its objectives, while also expressing his enthusiasm for getting to know the city and its fans.
Romulo developed through the academy system at Maringa FC in Brazil before moving to Athletico Paranaense. He joined Göztepe in January 2024, playing a key role in the club’s promotion to the Süper Lig, contributing five goals and three assists.
