Sara Nanni, the security policy spokesperson for the Green parliamentary group, has expressed no objections to the compulsory transfer of hundreds of German military soldiers to Lithuania, where a permanent brigade is slated to be established by 2027. Speaking to the Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland, she said she was pleased to hear that the measures the Parliament had urged to increase the attractiveness of service within the Lithuanian Brigade are now showing positive results. She noted that the current 80 percent staffing ratio corresponds roughly to the overall average for filling military positions. While understanding that complete operational readiness for specific specialties still requires a structured commitment, Nanni concluded that the brigade appears to be “on a good path” personnel-wise. Moving forward, the focus must now be on honoring commitments regarding the base location and continuing to actively advance efforts related to infrastructure, supply, and materiel.
