AfD Extends Lead Over CDU in Latest Insa Poll, Narrowing Gap to Governing Coalition

In the latest trend poll conducted by the research institute Insa for “Bild am Sonntag”, the AfD is widening its lead among voters. In the so-called “Sunday Trend,” the AfD gained one percentage point, reaching 29% of the vote. Meanwhile, the Union simultaneously dropped one point to 21%, increasing the gap between the two parties to eight percentage points.

Both the SPD and the Green Party saw slight increases, each gaining one point to reach 13%. The Left Party lost one point, settling at 10%. The BSW slipped one point to 3%. Similar to the FDP, which remained stable at 4%, the BSW is currently positioned to fall short of entering the Federal Parliament. All other parties held steady at 7%.

Insa surveyed 1,201 individuals for “Bild am Sonntag” between July 13 and July 17, asking, “If the Bundestag election were next Sunday, how would you vote?”
