Bayern Munich Overcomes Madrid in Thriller to Reach Champions League Semi-Finals

Bayern Munich secured their spot in the Champions League semi-finals after a tense comeback victory against Real Madrid. The German side earned a 3-3 draw in the second leg, which was enough to overcome a 2-1 first-leg loss.

The match started with Arda Güler giving Real Madrid the lead in the first minute with a long-range shot, following a mistake by Manuel Neuer. Bayern quickly responded, with Aleksandar Pavlovic equalizing from a corner kick in the sixth minute.

The game then became an open back-and-forth affair. Güler regained the lead for Real Madrid in the 29th minute with a direct free-kick. However, Bayern found a response when Harry Kane scored in the 38th minute after a precise assist, leveling the score at 2-2. Moments before halftime, the visitors capitalized on disorganization in the home team’s defense; Kylian Mbappé scored in the 42nd minute, putting Madrid up 3-2 at the break.

After halftime, Bayern increased the pressure while Real remained set up to counter-attack. Initial chances for a breakthrough were missed until the final stages of the game, which became highly volatile. Eduardo Camavinga received a yellow-red card in the 86th minute following a foul, forcing Madrid to play the last minutes with ten men. Bayern exploited this advantage: Luis Díaz scored in the 89th minute with a long-range shot, making the score 3-3. Ultimately, Michael Olise scored the decisive goal in added time to seal the victory.

With this narrow success, Bayern Munich advanced to the semi-finals, where they face defending champions Paris Saint-Germain.
