On Tuesday, the Dax remained in positive territory throughout the day, continuing a friendly start into the afternoon. At around 12:30 p.m., the German leading index reached 25,370 points, representing a 0.4 percent increase compared to the previous trading day’s closing level. Symrise, Bayer, and Brenntag led the list of top-performing stocks, while Infineon, Siemens Energy, and Hochtief finished toward the end of the list.
Andreas Lipkow, Chief Market Analyst at CMC Markets, commented that the Dax has potential to push further past the 25,000-point mark. He noted the growing interest in shares that have recently fallen sharply. Currently, defensive stocks-such as Symrise, Deutsche Telekom, and Vonovia-are heavily featured on investors’ buying lists. Lipkow suggests that after significant price drops, the risk-reward ratio for these companies appears to have become more attractive.
However, according to Lipkow, the fundamental pressures remain largely unchanged. High energy prices and rising bond yields continue to pose risks to the stock markets. He concluded that the current recovery appears to be less a reflection of new general confidence and more a focused search for undervalued assets. Investors are currently concentrating on purchasing specific losers from recent weeks rather than investing in the broader market as a whole.
