In the first match day of the Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund secured a 2-0 victory against Hamburger SV.
Serhou Guirassy opened the scoring for the hosts just nine minutes into the game. Following a combination play inside the penalty area involving Dortmund’s Konstantinos Karetsas and Guirassy, Guirassy slotted a flat shot from 15 meters perfectly into the left corner.
The BVB extended their lead in the first half’s stoppage time by one minute. Daniel Svensson delivered a diagonal ball to Dortmund striker Maximilian Beier on the left flank. Beier subsequently passed to teammate Giannis Konstantelias, who dribbled inside before shooting past HSV defender Sebastiaan Bornauw. The shot was deflected off Bornauw’s knee, leaving HSV goalkeeper Heuer Fernandes unable to save it.
In the 77th minute, newly substituted Dortmund striker Samuele Inácio was shown a red card for a harsh tackle on HSV midfielder Albert Grönbaek. Thanks to the win, BVB temporarily ascends to third place in the table, while HSV remains in the 16th position.
