Kubicki Warns Strack-Zimmermann Against Splitting FDP Over Leadership Dispute

The newly elected FDP chairman, Wolfgang Kubicki, warned his defeated rival, Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, against attempting to divide the party through continuous criticism of the new leadership, thereby minimizing the party’s chances of success.

Speaking in the “Bild” newspaper, Kubicki urged Strack-Zimmermann not to question the new leadership. He stated, “Marie-Agnes, you only have 40 percent. And now you know where the real power lies”. Simultaneously, he issued a stern warning: if she wishes to dwell on the results, she is free to do so. However, if her goal is to lead the FDP into irrelevance, he advised her to continue exactly as she has been.

Kubicki also mentioned that he had hoped to toast with Strack-Zimmermann at a party event on Saturday but had not seen her.
