Further details have been released by the police following the shooting incident in an Offenburg residential area that resulted in the deaths of two individuals. The female victim is identified as a 36-year-old woman who lived in the vicinity of the crime scene.
According to preliminary investigations, the 33-year-old suspect, who is of Turkish descent, was found in Händelstraße in the morning. Although he had no prior criminal record, he was known to the police and the judiciary in relation to accusations of insults and stalking. The suspect encountered the victim there for reasons that are still unknown.
The exact sequence of events remains under investigation. Currently, police believe that the man first used the weapon against the woman before shooting himself. Evidence suggests that the suspect and the victim had a past relationship that ended several months ago. Police state that insults and stalking followed their separation.
