Antonelli Dominates USA GP, Narrows Title Gap; Hamilton Remains Title Hopeful

Kimi Antonelli secured a victory at the US Grand Prix held at the Circuit of The Americas. The Mercedes driver crossed the finish line on Sunday ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, placing him extremely close to securing the World Championship title. Lewis Hamilton finished in fourth place, meaning his mathematical chances for the title remain alive.

Antonelli started from pole position and managed to maintain his lead despite beginning on medium tires. He steadily extended his advantage throughout the race and ultimately crossed the line with a 15.3-second lead. Leclerc and Verstappen engaged in a close battle for second place, which Leclerc ultimately managed to claim.

In the midfield, numerous positional fights and pit stops made the race even more exciting. Audi driver Nico Hülkenberg, starting from 11th, struggled to score points despite a solid performance, finishing in a disappointing eleventh place. Mercedes driver George Russell, who still theoretically has championship hopes, finished in eighth.

The race was characterized by several incidents, including a retirement for Cadillac driver Valtteri Bottas due to an engine issue. Alpine driver Franco Colapinto and Haas driver Oliver Bearman were also forced to end the race prematurely.

The next race is scheduled to take place next week in Mexico City. This event provides Antonelli with the opportunity to definitively win the World Championship, as he requires only two more points to clinch the title.
